Art teacher Amy Santis organized the "Art for Comic Exchange" program in partnership with Third Eye Blind Comics, 209 Chinquapin Round Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. St. Pius X students (including graduating eighth graders!) are invited to stop by the comic shop, show the manager artwork from class, and receive a free comic and sticker. No student artwork will be displayed or left behind.
Students may stop by from May 27th through June 15 anytime between 11 am and 9 pm to collect their comic book and sticker.
Note to PK-7th grade students: Please visit Third Eye Blind Comics AFTER you finish your current art project in Art class.

Get ready to tropic like it's hot at Purse Bingo! Please join us at St. Pius X on Friday, June 6, 2025 for a night of shell-ebrations. Bring your high tides and good vibes to Nelson Hall. Doors open at 6:00 pm and bingo begins at 7:00 pm. There are only 200 spots available. Please pre-purchase your spot today to ensure entry into the event.
Admission is $25. Each admission includes one multi-game card and one raffle ticket. Additional cards and bingo daubers can be purchased at the event.
BYO food, wine, or spirits. This is an event for adults 18 years and older. Beach vibes only; no crabby attitudes!

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) sponsors awards for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 and licensed/certified teachers:
1)Youth Scholarship for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 (Patriot's Pen youth scholarship) and
2)National Citizenship Education Teacher of the Year Award.

The 2025-2026 theme for the Patriot's Pen Youth Scholarship is: "How are you showing patriotism and support for our country?" The VFW also recognizes America's best certified/licensed educators (grades K-12) who instill a sense of national pride, civic responsibility, and patriotism in students.
All entries must be received by the local VFW Post by midnight, October 31, 2025. This information is being provided to SPX students now so that interested students are aware of the program and can prepare applications and essays over the summer. PARENT/GUARDIAN WORKSHOPS--YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH/ANXIETY
The Archdiocese of Washington Catholic Schools Office is hosting parent/guardian workshops at three different Catholic school locations in Prince George's County. The youth mental health and anxiety programs are designed to support your children's mental and emotional well-being. The workshops are provided at no cost to parents of students in Prince George's County Archdiocese of Washington Catholic Schools.
The programs will be led by Jonathan Dalton, PhD, a licensed psychologist specializing in evidence-based treatment of anxiety and related disorders. Dr. Dalton is the founder and director of the Center for Anxiety and Behavioral Change in Rockville, Maryland.
