A Spirit Day to support St. Pius X School will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Bowie Raising Cane's Chicken location from 12 noon to 4:30 pm. The Bowie Raising Cane's is located at 16401 Heritage Boulevard, Bowie, MD 20716 (behind Lowe's Hardware); the phone number is 301-296-7035. Please mention that you are from St. Pius X Regional School when you visit the restaurant. If you order online or order using the app, use promo code RCFUND96 to ensure that our school gets credit for your order. Raising Cane's will donate 15 percent of net sales to Saint Pius School. Please attend this event to support our wonderful school community!
Immunizations Reminder
ALL students entering Kindergarten need to have 2 MMR and 2 VARICELLA on file prior to the first day of school August 26, 2025.
ALL students entering 7th grade need to have MCV and TDAP vaccines on file prior to the first day of school August 26, 2025
If your child’s immunizations are not up to date please schedule an appointment and let the nurse know when your appointment is scheduled for.
Please ensure your child’s immunization record is uploaded to FACTS, or send a copy of their record to the nurse Meghan Benson at mbenson@stpiusbowie.org
MAP stands for "measuring academic progress" (standardized tests).
Parents--please bring your well rested student(s) to school on time. Students should bring two sharpened pencils. Also, please ensure that your student(s) eat a hearty and healthy breakfast before school, especially on the MAP Assessment mornings.

THE PRE-K SUMMER PROGRAM HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT. PK STUDENTS MAY ENROLL IN THE THREE-WEEK SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM.
St. Pius is offering one (1) summer camp program this year for our registered/enrolled students. The summer camp for grades PK-8 will be offered from July 7 - 25, 2025.

Please complete the google form above to order your child(s) t-shirt to be worn on May 2nd. The winning design was selected by the Administration and the Diversity Committee. Order forms and payment MUST be submitted no later than Thursday, April 10, 2025. Please see the Google form for payment instructions. If ordering multiple t-shirts, you need to submit a form separately for each person. Moving forward, the 2025 multicultural day t-shirt can be worn to school on PE days.

FRIENDLY REMINDER
The weekly Newsnotes newsletter is emailed to school parents, faculty, and staff Thursday mornings after 10 am. The Wednesday, April 16, 2025 Newsnotes was emailed one day early because Wednesday is the last day of school before spring break.
Event chairs should email any paragraphs explaining the event, photos, event flyers, section headers, etc. to Mrs. Reimer in the front office at preimer@stpiusbowie.org. Newsnotes submissions are due by 12 noon on Monday for publication that Thursday. All items (including links) should be proofread prior to submission; entries are subject to editing.
There are two (2) upcoming Thursdays when families will be on spring break and Newnotes will not be published:
Thursday April 17, 2025 (Holy Thursday--spring break)
Thursday April 24, 2025 (spring break)
Verbiage for the Thursday, May 1, 2025 Newsnotes is due by 12 noon on Monday, April 28, 2025. Publication of Newsnotes will resume as usual on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Please plan future submissions accordingly.
