MARYLAND BOOST PROGRAM
The State of Maryland offers a scholarship program for eligible students in grades K-8 called BOOST (Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today). Funds are used to help the student attend a participating non-public school.
The parent application for the BOOST program for the 2025-2026 school year is now open. The deadline to apply for a BOOST scholarship is Friday, May 9, 2025.
The BOOST website offers customer service sessions and weekly virtual assistance on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 1 pm until May 7th.

VIRTUAL POPCORN FUNDRAISER
SAVE THE DATE for our Virtual Popcorn Fundraiser March 17- 24th, 2025. Poppin Popcorn has a variety of gourmet popcorn, candies, cookies and seasonal items that can be sent directly to your purchaser sold to them through your online link. Share your link via email, on social media and text message. Information will be sent home in students' folders this week. REVISED Spelling Bee dates:
Friday, March 14, 2025 (new date)- The top ten winners from the grade level phase compete against the top ten winners from another grade level (1st vs.2nd, 3rd vs.4th, 5th vs. 6th, 7th vs. 8th). The top five winners from each of these divisions will advance to the final phase of the competition. Additional lists to study will be given to the contestants for the final phase.
Friday, March 21, 2025 (new date)- The top five winners from the grade level competitions will compete for the grand prize. This competition will be held in the Church from 10:30-11:30 am. There will be one Grand Prize winner and one top winner from each grade.

Field Day 2025 t-shirt order form reminder:
Please fill out this form for your student(s). The 2025 field day t-shirts have already been paid for; no more money is needed.
If you have not done so already, please click the link and fill out a field day t-shirt order form. These t-shirts have already been paid for and every student will be receiving one prior to their scheduled field day. We just need your child's t-shirt size(s). Please note there are YOUTH and ADULT sizes.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have multiple children enrolled in SPX, you need to use a computer (not a mobile device) to fill out this form in their respective Google Classrooms. You must fill out one form per student and you MUST make sure you are in the SPX Google account (@stpiusbowie.org) for the student whose form you are filling out. For example: I need to fill out two different forms (one in Mrs. Lonergan's account and a separate one by logging into my seventh-grade daughter's SPX Google account).

The Middle School Science Expo will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 3:15 pm to 6 pm in Nelson Hall.
*****Parents are welcome to attend the Middle School Science Expo after 3:30 pm. Parents should park in the front parking lot, but they CANNOT park until after 3:25 pm due to the afternooncarpool line*****.
Everyone is encouraged to wander through the Expo and experience the different projects on display. Students will be there to answer any questions about their projects. This will be a great opportunity for members of the community to see what the middle school students have been studying in Science class, help them practice presentation skills, and vote on the winning projects.
SPX CYO will offer flag football, soccer, and track and field programs (spring 2025). Flag football registration information will be available in the immediate future. Soccer and track/field registration is currently open; please see the updated flyer below for additional details. The attached CYO flyer was updated as of Tuesday, March 11, 2025, so please be sure to consult this document for the most up-to-date information. Questions can be directed to spx.cyosports@gmail.com.
St. Pius is offering 2 summer camp programs this year for our registered/enrolled students. Pre-school/K summer program will be offered from June 23 - August 8, 2025, and grades K-8 camp will be offered from July 7 - 25, 2025. Kindergarten aged students will be able to attend both/either camp.
