An update to all currently enrolled families at St. Pius X Regional School: 

Applications for NEW PreK3, PreK4 & Kindergarten students opened on Thursday, November 7, 2024.  The application can be found on the St. Pius website under the tab "Admissions".    All applications will be entered electronically through the TADS Admission Services. 

The age requirement for Pre-K 3 is 3 by September 1, 2025  (Born before 9/1/2022)
The age requirement for Pre-K 4 is 4 by September 1, 2025  (Born before 9/1/2021)
The age requirement for Kindergarten is 5 by September 1, 2025 (Born before
9/1/2020)

2025-2026 Archdiocese of Washington Tuition Assistance Program:
 

The application window for ADW tuition assistance is now open.  The deadline for Elementary School tuition assistance is Friday, February 21, 2025.  This is for students in Pre-K-8th grade.

As per tradition at St. Pius X Regional School, we will once again collect toys for Toys for Tots.  We are asking each family to send in one (or more) brand new unwrapped toy(s).  The toys will be collected by officers from our County Police department.  We will begin collecting toys on Monday, November 11, 2024 through Wednesday, December 11, 2024.  Please help support this very important and meaningful cause.

Santa isn't the only one with a great bag this season... PURSE BINGO IS BACK!
Join us for a jolly time on December 13, 2024, for a night of fun and reindeer games. This merry event will be held in-person at Nelson Hall, located on the campus of St. Pius X Regional School at 14710 Annapolis Road in Bowie, MD.  
DOORS OPEN AT 6:00 PM and BINGO BEGINS AT 7:00 PM.  There are only 200 spots available! Pre-purchase your spot today to ensure entry into the event.

Admission is $25.  Each admission includes one multi-game card. Additional cards and Bingo daubers can be purchased at the event. BYO food, wine or spirits.

Please note this is an event for adults 18 years and older.  Also, no Scrooges allowed!

Please attend the Spirit Night at Blaze Pizza on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 anytime between 3 pm and 8:30 pm and show your school spirit.  Blaze Pizza is located at the Bowie Town Center, 15431 Excelsior Drive, Bowie, MD 20716.  Blaze Pizza will donate 20% of the proceeds back to our school.  If you attend the event, please let them know that you are part of the St. Pius X Regional School community. Are you a middle schooler who wants to be more independent and learn practical skills to be successful in life?  Then the middle school Life 101 Club is the place for you! Join Ms. Neitzey each month on select afternoons as we learn practical skills.  Topics will include sewing on buttons, using a sewing machine to make a pillow, pillow case and juice pouch bag, ironing, folding fitted sheets etc. This club is limited to the first 16 students who are signed up online and submit payment prior to December 16th.

**PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOUR STUDENT WILL BE USING A SEWING MACHINE, SEWING NEEDLES, AND A HOT IRON!**

***THE COST IS $100. CHECKS MUST BE PAYABLE TO ST PIUS- $90 for 8th grade students AND BE SENT TO MS. NEITZEY BY DECEMBER 16th.   PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN FULL TO COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION INTO THE CLUB. ***

The first 16 students to sign up via email will be accepted to the club. Sign-ups will only be accepted via email to Ms. Neitzey and must contain all of the information listed below. SPX Green Team Christmas Lights Recycling Collection (November 2024 through January 2025)    Please bring in your old/not working Christmas lights and the Green Team will take them to be recycled!!!  Look for the decorated bin (see image below) in the front lobby!

Due to the Christmas holiday, the last regular issue of Newsnotes for 2024 will be published on Thursday, December 19, 2024.   Submissions for the December 19, 2024 Newsnotes are due no later than noon on Monday December 16, 2024.  

Newsnotes will resume publication on Thursday, January 9, 2025.  Please send in newsnotes submissions by 12 noon on Monday January 6, 2025 for the January 9, 2025 issue.
